One of the drawbacks to using men health forums for information, as opposed to going to your doctor, is that you can never be absolutely sure if the information you're getting is correct. For example, if you ask about the different treatments for foot fungus, you can get lots of suggestions that won't help you at all. Even when people who reply to your thread claim to be a physician, you can never be positive that they really are. On the other had, if you go to your doctor you know the advice you're getting is worth following.
All in all, when it comes to men health forums it's a mixed bag. There are plenty of benefits, but if you don't know what you're getting into you can end up following bad advice. I suggest checking them out if you have a question that isn't very serious in nature. For instance, you can ask about which exercises can help you build your triceps the fastest but I wouldn't suggest relying on a forum to tell you how to treat cancer.
You may have observed how your adjustable home loan rate has been at its all time low in the recent years. Many people have started to resort to refinancing in order to cut down on mortgage costs. However, with refinancing, there might still be an element of risk involved. As such, some people find it wiser to shorten the mortgage payment terms instead of merely reducing monthly payments.
Home refinancing is a good option for those who would like to have better control of their finances. It is an excellent way to get a better home loan rate, lower monthly payments or shorten the duration of the mortgage itself. It is undeniable how refinancing is popular mainly because it is an opportunity to lower home loan rate while at the same time get better monthly payment deals. Though shortening mortgage duration is an option when refinancing, there are not as much people who go down this road.
Refinancing to Reduce Monthly Payments
The benefit of refinancing in order to reduce monthly payments is obvious and self-explanatory. When you refinance, you lower your interest rate and consequently lower the amount you need to pay. Who wouldn't want this deal? The amount you save may be used to pay off other bills, or you can save this to pay for a part of your principal. Of course, you should never fall into the lure of spending some more just because you have extra money on hand.
Reduce the Life of Your Home Mortgage
Refinancing can allow you to shorten your mortgage terms while maintaining your monthly payment. For example, you can lower your home loan rate by refinancing, and then reduce your mortgage life span from 20 years to 15, while maintaining the same monthly payment. It might be more difficult to see how your financial burden is lessened this way, since you still need to pay the same amount. However, if you think of it in a larger perspective and in longer term, you can see how this may be a better deal for you.
You can look at it this way. Imagine a home loan rate of 5% on a 30 year mortgage. This will most likely cost you almost twice the amount that you borrowed. On the other hand, a rate of 5% on a 10 year mortgage will only cost you about 30% more of your principal as payment for interest. With the 20% difference in these two, along with the fact that you free yourself from the financial burden faster, it is easy to see how this option can generate far better deals.
Needless to say, if you still find it more practical and manageable to reduce your home loan rate by reducing your monthly payments, then by all means, do so. However, if you can get by without the extra savings refinancing can provide you; it may be financially wiser to reduce your mortgage duration instead. In the end, the choice will depend on your circumstances and financial goals.
Study Financing Companies
A sure fire way to find the best car loan rate is to study financing companies. Only by requesting quotes and comparing the fine print can you truly know you are getting the lowest rate.
Fortunately, online auto loan brokers offer convenient ways to compare lenders. With some sites you can make side by side comparisons, while other sites will email you multiple financing offers. Auto loan brokers work hard to attract customers by negotiating lower rates with lenders, so you often will find better deals through their sites that through a dealership.
To ensure that you are getting accurate quotes, fill out the form as completely as possible. A slight difference in income or employment dates can reduce your interest rate.
Negotiate Terms
To find the best auto loan for your financial situation, you will want to balance the interest rates and length of your loan. Shorter loans offer lower rates, but with a higher monthly payment. Take a look at your monthly budget to see what type of auto loan would work best for your situation.
Increase Your Down Payment
While zero down or a slight down payment are options for car buyers, a large down payment will save you money. By putting down 20% or more, you will qualify for a lower interest rate, even if you have adverse credit. You will also save money by not paying interest on that portion of the vehicle’s price.
Demand A Better Deal
By getting pre-qualified for a car loan, you can also reduce the cost of your vehicle by demanding a better deal from your dealership. As a pre-qualified buyer, salespeople see you as a cash buyer, and they want your money. You can negotiate for rebates, higher trade-in value of your vehicle, and extra features.

If you’re like many entrepreneurs, the thought of marketing makes you slightly sick to your stomach. And it’s more then a simple like or dislike of marketing, it’s the idea of trying to fit it into your to-do list. You already have a million things going on, how can you possibly fit marketing in?
So, instead, you end up not doing anything…until you run out of work that is. Then you desperately race around, trying to cram as much marketing as possible into as short amount of time as possible to try and ramp up your business.
Business picks up, you stop marketing again.
As I’m sure you already know, this isn’t a great way to grow a business on any level. But what do you do? You’re already overwhelmed with everything you have to do in your business, not to mention everything you have to do in your life, so how can you possibly fit marketing into that?
Never fear, that’s what the below 3 tips are designed to do, get you out of marketing overwhelm and into marketing superstar.
1. Make marketing a priority. Okay, don’t stop reading yet. This one might be tough to swallow but it has to be said. Marketing your business HAS to be a priority. If it’s not, then you will doom yourself to a “feast or famine” business model (where you oscillate between too many and too few clients, and because you’re in a constant roller coaster, you can never get enough traction to actually start growing your business).
But, I can hear you say, my priority needs to be on getting the work done. That’s what my clients are paying me for, and because they’re paying, then they have to be my top priority.
My response to that is well, not exactly. You’re right, you need to get the work done, and do a good job, or you’re going to run out of income pretty quickly. But, if you trade doing the client work over marketing, then you’re never going to get ahead.
(And, to be honest, it’s not fair to your clients either to have you constantly stressed about your business because you don’t know what’s in the pipeline. You owe it to yourself AND your clients to have a successful, thriving business.)
You need to have the mindset that marketing your business is JUST as important as doing the client work. Without the marketing, you WILL always struggle.
However, with that said, there’s no need to panic because…
2. You don’t have to do it all alone. There’s no law that says just because marketing is a priority means you need to do everything yourself. You can (and should) build a team. In fact, I would go one step further and tell you your team can ALSO help you with client work or admin work or just about anything.
Now with marketing, as with anything, there will probably be tasks you need to do yourself. But there will be many tasks you can easily outsource. The trick is to figure out what tasks you really need to do (and make time to do them) then outsource the rest.
But, I can hear you saying, what if I don’t have the cash flow to outsource? See, that’s the beauty of outsourcing marketing. There’s a very clear ROI. So let’s say one new client is worth $500 a month. Do you think regular marketing will bring you at least one new client? Of course. So maybe you set aside $250 a month for a virtual assistant to help you with some marketing tasks, knowing one new client will more than pay for your VA and any more clients above and beyond will be gravy.
(If you need help with marketing strategy to know what to outsource, drop me an email. I create marketing strategies for my clients, as well as do the work for them.)
3. Start small. This is what I did in my own business. You’ll notice I have a lot of marketing tasks going on right now — I have my newsletter, I blog, I podcast, I’m on social networking sites, I’m doing direct mail. I didn’t wake up one morning and say “I’m going to start everything today.” No, I did things one at a time. I started with my newsletter, then I added blogging, then podcasting, then social networking, etc. After I mastered one task, I went on to add another. So my marketing wouldn’t seem so overwhelming to me.
But remember, the biggest thing is to actually DO something. Start taking some action in your marketing, and the rest of the pieces should start to fall into place.

The next big question that arises, "How do you go about writing a quality press release that will grab the attention of the media and your particular audience?" Here are some tips to help you succeed:
Pick a "Newsworthy" Angle. Press releases are not an advertisement. Do not try to sell your product or service. Do not use "hype" in press releases. Instead give the media what they want and they will give you what you want. Now, what the press and media really want is a story! Just provide the Who, What, When, Where and How with regards to the uses of your products and/or services in a story format. Show examples of ways that people have used your products and services to their benefit. If you can include some emotions in your story all the better. Ask yourself: "Would this be something that I might read in a newspaper?"
Get a Good Start. The headline and the first few sentences of the first paragraph are the absolutely most important part of the press release. If you don't catch the reader's interest here you will lose your audience. The best way to do this is to use your most hard-hitting information FIRST rather than build to a climax. This may be opposite to what you would normally do when writing other material - but it does work! What follows in your press release are the details that SUPPORT your story or theme.
Write to the Media. Remember, a journalist, editor or reporter, not necessarily a client, is reading your press release. It's not your job to sell them your product or service. It IS your job to give them an interesting story or piece of news that they will be happy to share and announce to their audience.
Keep your release short and to the point. It should contain no more than about 500 words and no more than two pages. Include your contact information. Provide full contact name, company name, full address, phone number, email address and Web site URL. The contact name should be someone who is knowledgeable and available to answer any questions by media members such as editors, reporters and journalists.
Targeted press releases to the media have helped thousands of companies succeed. They are the most powerful form of marketing and advertising on the planet! Remember: One article is all it takes!

When you consider that LinkedIn has nearly 10 million users hailing from over 150 industries around the world, it is surprising that B2B websites aren't paying more attention. There are, though, several methods your website could be employing in order to improve your exposure within the business oriented social network, while also potentially improving your search engine visibility.
Invite, Invite, Invite
Your LinkedIn network not only consists of those connections that you personally invite. The connections of your connections, and their connections are also added to your network. It sounds confusing but you essentially get three tiers of connections for every person you invite. This means that you can gain an introduction to somebody through one of your existing connections.
In order to build your profile and greatly increase your connections list, you should invite everybody that is relevant to your business and your industry that you deal with. If you are a service provider, then you should politely invite clients to become one of your connections. As they add their own connections, these same people will be added to your own list and so on.
Make Your Profile Available To Search Engines
Your profile page on LinkedIn can be made visible to search engines. LinkedIn is viewed quite highly by the major search engines, particularly Google. When creating your profile, ensure that you create a public profile and opt for Full View. As such, include links to your websites, but also include the keywords most important to you.
By doing this, your LinkedIn profile will receive better search results so that people searching for your service, or those searching for the service you offer, will be more likely to see your profile page. Don't forget to modify the link details to your pages, so that they use your most targeted keywords. This will also help to improve the performance of your own pages.
Use Advanced Search Tools
LinkedIn enables you to perform advanced searches within your trusted network. You can look for those connections that are starting a new venture or a new project, or anybody that might be looking for the type of service you offer. This provides you with the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself and promote your particular service.
Answer Questions
LinkedIn Answers is a service similar, in essence, to Google Answers or Yahoo Answers. Registered users can ask a question and other users have the option to answer that question. Regularly check the Answers service to see if there are any questions within your field of expertise. Give a genuine answer that provides valuable information and the member that asked the question is likely to view your profile. Because you answer questions in your own field of expertise this may mean a new connection and a new business contact.
Using LinkedIn To Improve Your Business Networking
LinkedIn is quite different to many of the social networking sites online. It is positively geared towards businesses and business members. As such, it enables you to build a powerful business network and the community does not frown upon the action of promoting yourself, as long as you do it properly and at the most appropriate times.
Have you ever stopped to think what it is about golf that you like so much?
Some people would say that it allows them to enjoy a form of exercise that is not quite so strenuous as running or jogging on the treadmill or pedaling on the exercise bike. Others would say that they like the challenge that the sport presents. A few more might admit that it is an activity that allows for their social skills to emerge. If enough people are queried the answers could very well be numerous.
As for me, it is "the guys." You might wonder why an answer like that would roll out of my mind. But for me, it's true … "The guys."
The game itself is wonderful. The challenges that it presents are endless. The demands of a long straight drive are ever-present. In golfing terms that could be construed as another tee shot hit in the short grass. The approach shot finding its mark on the green … or as golfers put it, another green in regulation. The putting stroke, the chip shot, the bunker shot, the pitch-and-run are all shots that require a great deal of practice and skill in their own way.
The decisions of the game and how it plays with the golfers' mind are also a big part of the game. When a player has to shape a shot the decisions that come along with that are numerous. Does the shot call for moving the ball with a slight fade or a power draw? Should the ball get up in a hurry to clear a cluster of trees or should the shot be played low to stay under the limbs? Should the player go around a hazard or take a greater chance by trying to carry the ball over the danger? If the wind is blowing into the golfers face should the player swing an extra club or two or play the shot lower so that the ball cuts through the breeze?
The strategies are endless. The skill levels are numerous. The challenges are mind-boggling and unique. The vacation destinations are abundant. The various events are well-documented. Even the body types and gender specifications are varied.
So what makes the game so popular? To reiterate … it's "the guys."
To me there is nothing like having the regular group of guys on a Saturday or Sunday morning or for that matter a Wednesday afternoon or a Friday lunch. I've been lucky enough to have grown up in a golfing environment. Hanging around the pro shop is unique in its own way. Grabbing a bite to eat in the snack bar is significant in its own manner. Both are equally as important as jumping into a cart with a playing partner. Those places are where the stories are told, the jokes are thrown around, and the business deals are made.
From those experiences the games begin. The opportunity to bet and be paired with players of varying skill levels is fun! The challenge of the course is one thing, but saving the tail of a playing partner is what it's all about. Seeing a partner drain a thirty-footer when the chips are on the line or a competitor missing a three-foot putt in a similar situation are what make the game what it is. To be able to share the camaraderie on the course and take it to dinner afterwards or on vacation in the off-season or to a sponsored event away from the home venue is what the game of golf is all about. The friendships that are established and taken to other life experiences to me is what makes the game of golf so special.
You can have the beauty of the various golf courses. You can have the challenge of the different shots. You can have the action of the different bets. But if you don't have "the guys" to share all of that with then the glass is half-empty.
An Antigua Holiday staying at the Suite Hotel called the Trade Winds above Dickenson Bay could make a lot of sense. The Trade Winds Hotel could also be a good choice for your Antigua Honeymoon, as it is small and intimate, having only 45 rooms, and is definitely a place for the discerning guest.
Best described as peaceful, friendly, and relaxing the Trade Winds Hotel provides the perfect solution for people who don’t want to pay the earth, and don’t want something that is overly pretentious. Whilst not really what you would describe as a boutique hotel, because that would be pretentious, the Trade Winds nevertheless is similar without the sky high prices.
Being on a hill, the views are spectacular, although the walk up from the beach is steep. Having said that the hotel operates a shuttle bus, so you don’t have to walk. The benefits far outweigh the drawbacks, because the hill gives you not only the spectacular view, it also means the hotel is away from the noise and bustle, so you do get peace and quiet.
The beach itself, and anyone choosing an Antigua holiday will be mindful of the great beaches the island has, and they will not be disappointed here. You can walk for what seems like miles and the water is such a dreamy shade of blue. There are places to eat, bars, whee if you buy a few drinks, they will supply you with deck chairs.
Reports from guests talk about the fact that the Trade Winds Hotel may be rated as a three star, but the general feeling was it was in truth between four to five star but with three star prices. A little bit of luxury, with very professional and friendly staff, is another often heard comment from the very satisfied guests.
The rooms are large and this cannot always be said when you stay in an hotel on an Antigua vacation. They are also light and airy with a terrace or balcony that looks out over the sea.
The food in the restaurant, called Bay House is excellent with good choices, and you will notice a good many non residents, and locals coming into eat in the evenings. Probably the outstanding part of the evening meals are the desserts. There is also a small pool, sun deck, and bar, and the grounds are lush with tropical vegetation
One of the great things about taking an Antigua holiday at the Trade Winds Hotel is that you will be made to feel like an individual. This means the staff appear to know your room number, your name very quickly, and your likes and dislikes in the way of food and drink. This sort of thing rarely happens when you stay in a larger hotel where it can be quite impersonal.
If you can get your meal plans in place before you go. There are some great restaurants within easy driving reach, so determine what you want to do in the evenings, because if you take the meal plan that includes dinner, you will find that whilst there is a $50ECD limit for breakfast which is no problem anyway, there is no limit for dinner, so you can try all the most expensive dishes and it will be included.. Also be aware that a lot of rooms are permanently booked to BA aircrew, and whilst they can be somewhat boisterous, they do come and go, which adds an air of exclusivity for those permanent, or semi permanent guests.
The Trade Winds Hotel would be a good choice for an Antigua Holiday, and ideal for an Antigua Honeymoon if you want the glamour of the Caribbean, but not some of the ridiculous prices.

If you're a new writer, congratulations. I wish I were starting my career today. You have unlimited opportunities to make as much money from your writing as you wish. These five steps will help.
Just follow the steps - all of them. By the time you've completed all five steps, you WILL be paid for your words. There's an immense hunger online for words today; if you can write, you can make money.
1. Write ten articles on any topic you choose (as long as it's not about yourself)
Write ten articles. These ten articles can be on any topic you choose; basically topics for which there are magazines: fashion, mountain bikes, dieting...
There's one topic you should avoid, and that's anything to do with yourself. Unless you've lived an amazing life, or write with humor, there's next to no way to make writing about yourself profitable.
Here's the thing: you're aiming to write for people who will pay you, whether they're magazine editors or business people. These people all have an audience, and that audience is interested in a specific topic.
To sell your words, you need to write about topics in which others are interested. So study magazines on a newsstand, and write ten articles.
2. Create a small Web site
Many of my writing students baulk at this one. Creating a Web site seems complicated. Agreed, the first time you do this, it may well be like assembling a toy for your children at Christmas - frustrating. You may want to swear a lot and kick things. Feel free to do it if it relieves your feelings.
Nevertheless, creating a Web site is an essential skill for writers in the new millennium.
And it's EASY. Really.
I promise you if you take yourself to Blogger, it will take you less than three minutes to create your first site.
So go and do that NOW.
You're back? Great.
3. Post your articles to your site
Now post all your articles - yes, all ten - to your new site.
Create a small sidebar with a "Hire Me to Write for You" notice. Ensure that there's a way for people to contact you: include your email address and your cell phone number.
Congratulations. You're now a writer - all you have to do to make money is to keep writing.
4. Post three articles to article directories
Choose three of your articles, and post them to article directories online - but create a "resource box" or "bio" first.
Your resource box is a chance for you to sell your new writing skill. It also provides a link back to your site, so people can view samples of your writing and can contact you.
You can craft your resource box in any way you wish. It can be extremely simple, as in "John Smith writes about fashion and finance, and he's available to write for you today. Contact him at his site _____________ (the URL of your Web site.)"
5. Approach Web sites for writing jobs
Finally, approach sites to write for them. Which sites? That depends on the topics you're comfortable writing about. Whichever topics you've chosen, there will be thousands of sites covering those topics.
Check the About page of likely looking sites. If they hire writers, they'll often have Editorial contact information. Sometimes they won't. Contact them, tell them who you are and what you want.
Before you know it, you'll have several clients for whom you write. And you'll get paid to write for money. It's just as easy as I've described - have fun.
The use of versatility of hair extensions has been recognised among many different ethic and social groups. They are made from a range of human hair and synthetic fibres but how do you no which is right for you?
Realistically either human or synthetic or perfectly fine to be used for hair extensions even though human hair is always often preferred due to the fact it blends in which your natural hair more as it is the same texture and more likely to be a more natural colour. Human hair is available in different grades with the main suppliers of it is India, China and Eastern European countries.
Synthetic hair however does have its advantages. You can get synthetic hair in any colour that you could possibly imagine and it is generally less expensive than human hair. You can also purchase synthetic hair in a range of different styles such as:
• Yaki - pure straight, usually mimicking the straightness of Asian hair.• European – this is more natural-looking straight hair that may have a slight wave to it• Deep Wave - while generally not a true 'wave', it can be made to look like spiral curls.• Loose Deep Wave or Romance Wave - looser version of the deep wave, softer curls.• Jheri Curl - usually sold in very short lengths, it is often used to recreate the full 'afro' look.• Wet and Wavy (Spanish Wave or Indian Wave) - usually human hair is used, and is either naturally curly or permanently waved to appear so.
If you wanted to create these sort of styles with human hair extensions you would have to have the style placed onto the extensions after you had them placed in, costing you more. Human hair however outweighs synthetic immensely when it comes to what you can do with them when they have been placed in.
When it comes to the styling and washing of your hair with your hair extensions in, extra care will need to be taken but this doesn’t necessarily mean that it will cause you extra work. The shampooing of your hair should be done in the same way for human hair and synthetic fibres. You should continue to wash your hair how you always have, however it may be a good idea to switch to a more mild shampoo and conditioner. This, along with using cool water, helps to dramatically reduce tangles.
The styling of your hair extensions can be carried out like normal, just like how you treat your normal hair, if you have human hair extension, which gives them a major advantage over synthetic hair as synthetic hair restricts you from styling.
It is not advisable to use heat on synthetic hair as it has the potential to burn or melt the hair. This means that you would have problems when it comes to drying, straightening or curling your hair.
If you are considering having hair extensions please speak to your stylist before making any major decisions.

Before you cast off you’ll need to ensure you have a Georgia fishing license. You can apply for a fishing license at various locations and even online. Once you have your fishing license, its time to decide where to fish.
Lake Blue Ridge Fishing:
A fishing trip would not be complete in North Georgia without visiting Lake Blue Ridge. The lake is actually a 3,290 acre reservoir on the Toccoa River. The reservoir, located near Blue Ridge, GA, is operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Lake Blue Ridge fishing is exciting because of the diversity of fish you can catch. Those on the lake are likely to encounter bluegill, largemouth bass, white bass, yellow perch and walleye. Catching walleye is best spring to fall at night because of the clear water.
Another reason the lake is popular is the ease of navigation. The lake can be easily navigated by small boat, canoe, tube or you can wade in several places. Check with the Tennessee Valley Authority for water release times and safety information.
Georgia Trout Fishing:
If you’re a fly fishing enthusiast, then consider the lower Toccoa River to be a dream come true. The Wildlife Resource Division stocks the lower Toccoas River annually with adult and fingerling rainbow trout, and brown trout. The lower Toccoa River game fish is 75% trout, with an average size of about 9 inches. The Toccoa River supports natural reproduction, so it’s not unlikely to catch a 12 inch to 16 inch trout, even the occasional 20 inch trout can be found.
Did you know Georgia has roughly 4,000 miles of trout streams and over 100,000 trout anglers? The WRD and US Fish & Wildlife Service are busy stocking Georgia streams with trout from late March through August. Fishing season typically starts at the end of March and runs until the end of October.
Delayed Harvest Streams (beginners):
Are you new to fishing? Georgia offers a variety of delayed harvest streams. These streams are ideal for beginners and offer less experienced anglers the ability to get good experience in an ideal environment. Fannin County and White County both offer delayed harvest streams. In Fannin County the delayed harvest stream is located along the Toccoa River, near Blue Ridge, GA. White County’s delayed stream is located two counties over on Smith Creek.
Blue Ridge Mountain North Georgia Fishing Vacations:
North Georgia is a great destination for a fishing vacation. Those that fish enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountain North Georgia region because of the diversity of fishing settings. Located about 90 minutes from Atlanta, the region is a great destination for adventure-seeking vacationers. An industry for tourism has grown around the beauty of the mountains and quality of fishing. The next time you are considering North Georgia cabin rentals, consider a fishing trip on this region’s rivers, lakes and streams.
Many golfers are wary about buying custom clubs because they're just not sure if they need them. After all, millions of golfers get by just fine without them. The real question is, do they? When you're out on the links take a look around you. You'll see that everyone is a different size and shape. Everyone has different tendencies. Custom clubs take all of those things into account. You cannot have the perfect game without your equipment being totally built for you personally. If you're serious about taking your game to the next level, custom golf clubs should at least be explored.
It's important to know the difference between fitted and custom. They are not the same! Fitted clubs are mass produced and bought from a manufacturer. They are sold to thousands of people. Once you buy them they are slightly altered to fit your body frame and swing. The shaft length is changed by bending the head to get the correct lie angle. This doesn't increase the shaft length or, more importantly, change the shaft flex of the club. It's really a superficial fix to clubs that are built for the average person. If you're not the average person, you are pretty much out of luck. Custom ones are created specifically for you. They take into consideration everything about your swing and your body. The shaft is designed for your height. The grips suit your hand size and the head is built to suit your abilities. Everything about them is designed to improve your game.
Just how do custom clubs knock shots off your game? Well, as your learn to play golf or as you progress in your game, improperly fitted golf clubs can really encourage you to develop bad habits. You will unconsciously try to make up for the clubs inabilities. Your body will reposition and your technique will suffer the consequences. Custom fitted clubs eliminate the guessing factor. The club does its work so that you can do yours. That's why even beginners benefit greatly by having custom clubs.
Although custom clubs are a bit more expensive than other clubs, they are well worth it. If you can't afford to get an entire set of custom clubs right away, at least look into investing in a few. Start small and build your way up. You'll notice a difference immediately. Pretty soon unwinding at the golf course won't be an exercise in frustration. Your great game will leave you relaxed and ready to tackle another hard week!

Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro, Madrid
Madrid’s stellar course, one of Spain's oldest and certainly its most exclusive, is set in a beautiful oak forest, just outside the city. Established in 1895, the challenging Par 72 course, which includes the old 18-hole Arriba Course and the new 18-hole Abaja Course, is deservedly very popular on weekends.
Sloping, well maintained greens and long fairways edged by trees, include many bunkers and water hazards. There is a pitching green, and a putting green. Other facilities include a pro shop, golf tuition, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and horse riding, while the clubhouse features a bar, restaurant and sauna.
Alicante, Costa Blanca
Seve Ballesteros designed this 18-hole, Par 72 course, with its contoured greens, long fairways, and well-positioned bunkers, set among various housing estates. The picturesque ruins of a Roman Villa is located near the 15th green. The course, set next to a beach, features many holes with water hazards and strategically located bunkers. The 6 Par 5s, Par 4s and Par 3s, cover flat fairways.
The final hole tees off over water, and includes numerous fairway bunkers, while making the green involves more lake hopping. Alicante requires a buggy, which comes with the playing fee, and there is a practice ground, a café/restaurant, and a well-stocked pro shop.
Desert Springs, Almeria
Europe’s first desert course, opened in 2002, the prestigious and challenging 18-hole Desert Springs is modelled on courses in Arizona and California. Year-round golfing is possible, and a high-tech golf academy, featuring computer video analysis, holds private and group classes.
Fortunately the course is suitable for both amateurs and professionals, and dry riverbeds, water channels, rocks and a variety of xerophytic plants, along with surrounding mountains make for a dramatic setting. The desert terrain is an interesting change from Spain’s more typical lush, coastal golf courses. Desert Springs includes a pitching green, putting green, and driving range.
Club de Golf Valderrama
Regarded as Spains’s best golf course, Valderrama, on Costa del Sol, has long Par 5s, plentiful water hazards, and greens that are bunker protected. There are spectacular views towards Gibraltar and the North African coastline, and lush, tree-lined fairways and spick and span elevated greens give this course the great reputation it deserves.
Valderrama’s famed, tough 17th hole, the location for many dramatic world championship matches, requires a perfect third shot over water to make the green. But don’t just turn up expecting a game – you must book months in advance to play here.
Montecastillo, Cadiz
This marvellous golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, features 18 holes, and covers 160 hectares. It is part of the Montecastillo resort complex, which includes hotels, restaurants, a pool and health centre.
Well-tended fairways and greens, and a full range of practice facilities include 75 covered bays at the driving range, grass practice tees, and putting and chipping greens. The reasonably flat course, with undulating fairways, has expansive lakes, many bunkers and top quality greens. From the 18th hole tee are spectacular views towards Jerez.
